A fresh and tangy lemon-lime drink with a tiny hint of sugar to quench your thirst when the thermometer rises!
Homemade lemonade - Lilie Bakery

A drink to sip all summer long: the Homemade lemonade ! With its lemon and lime flavor, it is served very cold with a few ice cubes. Without bubbles, unlike lemonade, and very little sugar, it refreshes the whole family during hot weather! Let yourself be tempted by this very easy recipe...

What you will like about this homemade lemonade

  • flavors : the acidity of lime and lemon softened by a hint of sugar (no more!).
  • texture : it is that of a classic lemonade, that is to say without bubbles. You can add ice cubes to the glasses when serving for even more freshness.
  • difficulty level : it's a very simple drink to make! On the equipment side, you will need a large pitcher of more than 1,5 liters for this homemade lemonade.

Ingredient details

  • lemon : for this lemonade, I make a mixture of lime and yellow lemon.
  • sucre : it is essential to add a little sugar to break the acidity of the lemon. I put very little because the goal is not to have a drink that is too sweet.
  • water : it is still water that is added to a homemade lemonade (unlike lemonade which is made with sparkling water). If you use tap water, make sure that it does not taste of chlorine.
  • mint : I add fresh mint leaves to the lemonade but this is optional if you don't like the extra freshness that mint brings.

How to make homemade lemonade?

  1. We cut a sliced yellow lemon
  2. We then mix the sliced lemon and sugar
  3. We add boiling water
  4. We let it infuse covered
  5. We pass in fine sieve and we pour into a pitcher
  6. We squeeze the juice green and yellow lemons
  7. We add this juice with still water and mint leaves
  8. We cover and refrigerate homemade lemonade until it's nice and cold!

NB: the complete list of ingredients and the detailed recipe are given at the bottom of the page.

My tips for making your homemade lemonade a success

  • choose a large pitcher (+1,5 liters) if you have this at home. Otherwise separate the lemonade into two smaller containers.
  • When squeezing lemon juice, avoid adding too much pulp., it will be more pleasant to taste.
  • I advise you to put ice cubes in the glasses When serving homemade lemonade, it adds an even greater freshness effect.

Store lemonade properly

You can keep your homemade lemonade for up to 3 days in the refrigerator, ideally in a closed pitcher with a lid. This keeps its flavor intact and protects it from fridge odors.

Feel free to mix the contents of your pitcher with a tablespoon before serving if the homemade lemonade has been in the refrigerator for several hours, to have a very even taste throughout the pitcher.

Thank you this recipe is excellent and if I can: I add a teaspoon of green tea .. preferring loose tea because in bags the leaves are too packed. Depending on the tea, it gives a different and pleasant taste ...
    Have a nice day ☺
    Thank you
