An ultra simple recipe with 3 ingredients: Bounty House ! A very creamy coconut heart surrounded by a tasty chocolate coating. Delicious and comforting bars very easy to prepare at home.
What You'll Love About This Homemade Bounty Recipe
- flavors : the alliance of coconut and dark chocolate...
- Texture : with each bite you can taste the crunchy chocolate exterior and the melting coconut center.
- Difficulty level : homemade bounty is very simple to prepare, you just need to allow a little time for it to set in the freezer in addition to the time it takes to make the recipe.

Details on the 3 ingredients of the recipe
- Grated coconut : it brings the coconut flavor to homemade bounty. I advise you to use finely grated coconut (the one that is easily found in stores).
- Sweetened condensed milk : it will provide the binder inside and create a creamy and finely sweet texture.
- Dark chocolate pastry 52% cocoa : it is used to coat homemade bounty. I use dark chocolate to have a less sweet side in the final result. However, if you want to look more like the original sold in stores, you will have to use milk chocolate (as a complete replacement or 50/50 with dark chocolate).
How to make homemade bounty?
- We mix the grated coconut and sweetened condensed milk.
- We mash this mixture in a square pan, then put in the freezer.
- On cut the rectangles of coconut, we round them like the real bounty then we put them back in the freezer.
- We do melt the chocolate in a bain-marie.
- We completely dip each coconut bar in the chocolate using a fork.
- We decorate with 3 small lines then put in the refrigerator to harden.
NB: the detailed recipe with the quantities of ingredients is given to you at the bottom of this page.

My tips for successful homemade bounty
- for easily handle the coconut bars before coating: respect the two cooling times in the freezer.
- for allow a good coating, the chocolate should be very smooth. If necessary, reheat it after making half of the homemade bounty.
- for look the same as the real bounty on top, use the tip of a spatula and make 3 successive lines.
How to keep your house bounty?
Since the coating is chocolate, I strongly advise you to keep them in the fridge. This will prevent them from melting. They can be kept cool. about 4-5 days in an airtight container.

It's so well explained that it's really a pleasure to make cakes with you.
I wanted to know if we could find all your recipes in a book.
Thank you
All the best

Hello Carine, that's very kind of you, it motivates me to continue, that's for sure :) You suggest a good idea, to group all the recipes from the blog in a paper book, there are nearly 400 so it would be necessary to sort all that and find a publisher. Maybe one day if I have the opportunity! See you soon :)
Hello, I followed your recipe to the letter.
Unfortunately it failed.
There really isn't enough shredded coconut compared to sweetened condensed milk.
I think you should have put as much coconut as sweetened condensed milk.
Very disappointed... too bad.
Hello Valérie, I confirm that my dosages are good, and I think that this comes from your realization. Also, I invite you to read the comments of other readers who have made the recipe, and loved it! See you soon :)
Hello,
This recipe makes me want it too much but I can't consume condensed milk... If I replace it with agave syrup do you think it could work? Or do you have another idea?
Thanks in advance for your reply and your great recipes ^^
Hello Aline, to answer you, it is the condensed milk which gives all its texture to the Bounty so I cannot advise you on any other ingredient here... See you soon :)
